What I Want To Learn about Computers

Why I applied this class?
The answer is that of course I want to know more about Computer.
This is because I know a little about how to use computer, but the knowledge is just self-learned. And I think some of my ways to use computer are not so practical.
Thus, I want to learn more effective and useful ways t use computer.

In addition, specifically, I am interested in how computers work, how to put a computer together by myself, and what the computers’ spec table mean. Until now, I have always asked my father what is wrong with our computer and to fix it when it does not work well.
However, I need to judge what the problem in my computer is and to fix it by myself.
Besides, I will buy my own laptop next year, so I want to acquire the knowledge which could be the basis for the decision.

In conclusion, I want to learn as much of above as we can in this short term lecture!

My History with Computers

I have used computers since I was a elementary school student.
However, the roles computers have played for me have not been always same.

When I met a computer for the first time, I recognized it as a game machine!
The reason was that I was taught only how to play computer games by my father.
This recognition had not changed until I entered junior high school.

I started using computer as communication tool when I was twelve years old.
I got my account in my family’s computer.

I used to do net surfing, write my friends and sometimes chat with them through messenger software.
When I was addicted to write email best, I had at least five email addresses.
(I forgot the exact number!)

I had belonged to school trip committee of each grade in my junior and senior high school.
One of our main task was making the original of trip guides,
so I learned to use the Microsoft Word, Excel, and Photoshop.
In addition, I learned how to use Microsoft Power Point and macro of Microsoft Excel.

Now, I have my own desktop computer and enjoy using it as the tool for communication, listening to music and my study everyday*
